Weddings at Hannah's Cottage
Hannah’s Cottage Bed and Breakfast accommodation is situated just half an hour from the centre of Adelaide in the picturesque Adelaide Hills. Just 5 minutes from the busy tourist town of Hahndorf, Hannah’s seems like a world away as it is situated on a twenty acre farm. From its hilltop position, there are expansive views of rolling hills and picturesque 200 year old "Heysen" gums. With excellent spots for photo opportunities Hannah’s is the place to go if you want to celebrate your important occasion somewhere different.

Initial information and costs for a wedding / function at Hannah’s Cottage Bed and Breakfast
Prices valid as at August 2010 but subject to change without notice.
Married here one year ago and back to enjoy Hannah’s for our first anniversary at a more leisurely pace. A wonderful weekend. We’ll keep in touch. Thanks for everything- again! Drew and Alison
Number of people
Weddings and other functions for a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 50 people. We are a catered reception venue so do not do wedding ceremonies only.
Availability
We cater for weddings and functions from September to April and on weekends only. Our venue is not suitable for receptions after dark.
Due to the fact that our Bed and Breakfast is part of the garden, we do require that the cottage, which is lovely and romantic, is booked for a minimum of two nights. This usually includes the night before the wedding as most brides wish to have a rehearsal and often a marquee needs to be set up etc. The package for two nights includes everything such as provisions for generous cooked breakfasts, complimentary quality wine, home-baked bread etc.
Initial costs
Booking of the cottage for a minimum of two nights $500. The cottage is for the use of the bridal couple only, NOT for the entire bridal party. On the day of the wedding the cottage toilet will be made available to all guests for their use.
Use of the property for a minimum of 4 hours $1200. This includes provision of 50 white garden chairs if required, a lovely antique cedar table and chair for signing the register and for photos, and the provision and service of chilled spring water for up to 50 people.
Use of the property for more than 4 hours on the wedding day incurs a fee of $300 per hour or part thereof. Cost of a one day liquor licence. This price varies but is approximately $150.
Conditions
- Self-catering is NOT an option.
- Loud music is not acceptable but we can arrange a string quartet or similar.
- Children are not encouraged and they must be strictly supervised at all times.
- Please note that our entire property is smoke free so guests will have to return to Jones Road if they wish to smoke and must dispose of their cigarette butts responsibly.
Location
Some couples choose to marry on the cottage verandah with guests assembled in the garden.

Others prefer to marry on our huge back lawn either with or without a marquee.

Catering
Our preference is for cocktail style finger food as this creates a relaxed and informal atmosphere. However, a range of options is available for receptions and reception food / facilities etc. Costs will vary depending on what you want.
Finger food prices are constantly changing as the cost of ingredients is rising rapidly at the moment and they are very fiddly so time-consuming to prepare.
For a period of three hours we recommend 8 varieties of savoury finger food, both hot and cold, allowing for 12 pieces per person.
Staffing to serve this is an extra charge.
Dessert finger food is additional. Please note that these prices are a guide and are subject to a final quote. Prices are inclusive of GST.
Drinks
For serving drinks we usually do the following:
We offer sparkling, red or white wine, beer and soft drinks.
Hannah’s uses and recommends quality wines from the Adelaide Hills region. We suggest Sparkling Pinot Noir from Bird in Hand, Tryst from Nepenthe and Sauvignon Blanc from Hahndorf Hill winery.
We usually pour drinks for the first glass then encourage guests to help themselves.
We find that for small weddings people usually prefer a more relaxed arrangement but it is up to you. If you want someone dedicated to serving from a “bar” then you would need to pay for the hire of someone whereas our more casual arrangement is included in the $1200 that is our base price.
Equipment
A marquee- they come in different sizes and so the cost varies. A 6 by 12 marquee at present would cost you $550.
Round tables that seat 8 to10 people are currently $30 each.
The hire of white 2.4 round cloths is additional.
Booking conditions
We require a 50% deposit on booking and the remaining 50% is due 2 months before the booked date. Prices which are subject to consumption will be estimated and adjusted after the actual wedding.
