Have you ever had a feeling of wonderment when you arrived at a secluded little retreat where endless views and superb interiors unfolded into a perfect picture? Well, Hannah's Cottage offers just this sensation.

Subtle features impress such as the plush bed that is custom-made to a height that allows you to appreciate the view from your feather-soft pillow. Touches such as host Anne's Ikebana flower arrangements offer a delightfully contemporary contrast to the country-style antiques.

There is a unique ambience here that derives from Anne’s years in Japan, Paul’s European background and their desire as hosts to transform what was once a dairy into a romantic hilltop retreat just for two.

Hannah’s is all about relaxation. Gaze at the views from the bedroom window seat or the spa and settle down for an evening by a crackling fire. For an insight into the treasures of regional produce, order one of Anne’s gourmet platters
and toast the sun as it sets over the rolling hills.

Hannah’s is also the perfect spot for a small wedding on the lawns (weddings for up to 50 guests can be catered for).

SIMPLE INDULGENCE

Sometimes hibernating can be fun. No need to lower the body temperature though; just curl up around the fire with good food, good wine and a good book. At Hannah’s Cottage, near Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, the agenda more or less sets itself. Sleep in till late, brew a pot of coffee, raid the kitchen for its generous supply of cooked and continental breakfast provisions, read the paper sprawled in front of the wood fire, stroll over to the Shaw and Smith and nepenthe cellar doors to select a few bottles of the local libation, then head into Hahndorf for a blitz on its irresistible bakeries, butchers, delicatessens an d patisseries. Quaint and modest from the outside, Hannah’s cottage proves to be a little den of indulgence with a twin spa bath, queen-sized bed with luxury linen, flat-screen TV and wood-fire heating.
